Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nicolas makes surprise return to the grid after two-year absence

Nicolas Hamilton is set to compete at the 2025 British Touring Car Championship33-year-old has cerebral palsy and is the only disabled driver in BTCC history

Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nicolas will return to the grid in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in 2025.

Hamilton, who has cerebral palsy, is determined not to let his disability interfere with his motor-racing career.

He will race for Un-Limited Motorsport, in a three-car line-up with Dexter Patterson and Max Hall.

Hamilton is the only disabled driver to have competed in the BTCC but has not raced in the series since 2023.

He finished sixth in a race at Donington Park two years ago and returns to raise awareness of disability inclusion in the sport after a 20-month break.

‘There is a place in motorsport for disabled people to feel valued and accepted in multiple roles within the sport, and I want to open people’s eyes to that,’ said Hamilton, who turned 33 on Friday.

‘I want to continue to prove that motorsport is for everyone and that racing can be a platform for opportunity and inclusivity.

‘Un-Limited Motorsport and my partners believe in what I stand for, my talent, and my purpose. If I can be accepted, then so can others with a disability.’
