Tottenham are eyeing an £80million summer swoop for an England Under-21 star, according to a report.
Spurs could be in need of reinforcements in the summer if they are to improve on what has been a dismal season for Ange Postecoglou’s side, with just the Europa League left to play for.
They are now 12th in the Premier League table – boosted by their 1-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend – but out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup after two defeats in a week.
Still, there could be hope for the summer with chairman Daniel Levy seemingly ready to spend big, including on the permanent arrival of Mathys Tel, who has initially joined on loan from Bayern Munich.
More attacking reinforcements could be on the way, however, with Dominic Solanke signing in the summer, for £65m from Bournemouth, too.
One star, according to The Sun, could be on his way to north London, in the form of Three Lions youngster Jamie Gittens.

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing an £80million summer swoop for an England Under-21 star

Jamie Gittens is a regular at England youth level and could be set for a summer move to his homeland from Germany

Gittens is a regular with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances this season

Ange Postecoglou has seen his side fall to 12th in the Premier League in a tough season
Gittens, 20, currently plays for Borussia Dortmund in Germany, having made 91 appearances for the first team since joining from Manchester City.
The forward joined City’s academy in 2018 having also spent time with the likes of Reading and Chelsea, before moving onto Germany and finding a home to kick on in his career.
Since signing, he has taken his game to new heights, and is reportedly also being monitored by Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Predominantly a left-sided forward, he has been capped 11 times by England’s U21s having also featured at every age group down to the Under 15s.
This year, he has become a regular for Dortmund boss Niko Kovac, making 33 appearances and scoring 11 goals.
Dortmund, though, have fallen to 11th in the Bundesliga table in a season of struggle and could be forced to cash in on their prized assets in the summer.
A move on from Dortmund to take his career to the next level would emulate recent moves made by the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham.
