Tottenham are trying to revive their deal to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea, Mail Sport understands.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have already welcome one defender – Kevin Danso – through their doors during the window but are still pursuing a deal for Disasi.

Mail Sport revealed earlier in the week that Tottenham were out of the running to sign Disasi – despite agreeing a loan deal with their London rivals.

The player had previously rejected a move to north London which caused the move to collapse. However, Spurs have not given up hope in bringing in the Frenchman.

It’s an attitude that has seemingly paid dividends already for Daniel Levy’s side, after Mathys Tel performed a dramatic U-turn in his stance over joining Spurs.

After initially being rejected by the Bayern Munich star, Tottenham are now closing in on a loan deal for the 19-year-old – who was sought after by a number of clubs.

Aston Villa remain in the race to sign Disasi – who has fallen out of favour with Enzo Maresca at Chelsea during the current campaign.

However, the Blues are not keen on Disasi moving to Villa Park given the fact that Unai Emery’s side.

Disasi captained Chelsea in November when they won 2-0 away to Heidenheim in Germany.

He signed a six-year contract in August 2023 when he arrived at Stamford Bridge from Monaco in a £38.7million deal.

Since then, he has made 61 first-team appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
