Tottenham have agreed a loan move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel after he made a shock U-turn on deadline day, Mail Sport understands.
Tel had turned down the chance to join Spurs earlier this week despite Bayern accepting a £50million bid, leaving the door open for the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal to mount potential last-ditch swoops.
But both clubs appeared to cool their interest and Spurs have now wrapped up a temporary switch with no buy option included.
The 19-year-old and his agent Gadiri Camara have touched down in the UK at Farnborough Airport and were pictured on board the private jet.
Tel is believed to have been keen to secure a transfer this month and Bayern have accepted his wish, giving the green light to Spurs’ renewed approach.
United’s bid to secure the target hit the buffers yesterday after discussions reached an impasse, despite them being given encouragement that he wanted to join them.

Ange Postecoglou has been desperate to reinforce his threadbare squad this month
The cash-strapped club, who have signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven so far, were unable to find an agreement over payment terms.
Arsenal had remained in the background but are not thought to have followed up their interest with a concrete proposal, leaving Spurs free to steal a march on Tel.
Spurs technical director Johan Lange is understood to have travelled to Munich to watch Tel play for Bayern in their Champions League victory against Slovan Bratislava and began negotiations before returning to the UK.
Playing time had been criticial in Tel’s decision making, having tumbled down the pecking order under Vincent Kompany in Bavaria this season.
Tel has scored 16 goals in his 83 appearances for Bayern across all competitions.
Once confirmed, he will be Spurs’ third signing of the transfer window, following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsy and defender Kevin Danso.
