Barcelona have reportedly expressed interest in Alexander Isak  as they seek to bolster their options in attack this summer.

After trying and failing to sign Nico Williams from LaLiga rivals Athletic Club last summer, the Blaugrana are said to be looking elsewhere when it comes to planning for their next phase of recruitment.

Sporting director Deco is rumoured to be keen on securing the services of Luis Diaz or Benjamin Sesko, according to a report from Barcelona-based outlet SPORT.

While Barca allegedly made contact with Newcastle towards the end of 2024 over what it would take to sign Isak, a deal looks difficult to achieve.

Any potential transfer would be complicated by the Magpies demanding more than £100million for the striker, along with Arsenal’s interest in the Swede.

The Catalan giants are also eyeing up a move for Luis Diaz, whose contract at Anfield runs until 2027.

Were he not renew his deal before 2026, Barcelona and other club would then be able to approach the Colombian to sign him as a free agent.

Barcelona are also purportedly looking at the possibility of signing Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

A deal for the young star would also be complicated by the presence of Robert Lewandowski – who is likely to stay at the club until the end of next season.

While one of Sesko’s agents was recently said to have visited Barcelona, there was no confirmation that they were visiting with the intention of opening talks with Deco.

Barcelona are currently in a three-way fight with arch-rivals Real Madrid and their cross-city neighbours Atletico for the LaLiga title.

Just two points separate the three teams, with all of them having played 23 league matches so far.

Barca will be hoping that results go their way domestically this weekend – as Real take on Osasuna on Saturday while Atletico host Celta Vigo later that day.

Hansi Flick’s side return to action themselves on Monday night, when they welcome Rayo Vallecano.
