Juventus are looking to bring in two out-of-favour Manchester United stars on loan during the January transfer window.

Thiago Motta’s side are eager to improve given that they are currently in fifth place in Serie A.

Juventus are twelve points adrift of leaders Napoli, albeit with a game in hand.

Motta is especially eager to make improvements to his side’s defence this month.

Juventus were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan in the semi-finals of the Supercoppa Italiana.

One of the United players that Juventus are targeting previously worked under Motta.

As reported by The Daily Star, Juventus want to bring in Tyrell Malacia on loan with an option to sign the left-back permanently in the summer.

Malacia has struggled with injuries during his time at United and has made just two appearances in the Premier League this season.

Juventus are willing to pay the majority of Malacia’s salary of £75,000-a-week.

Malacia, who joined United in 2022, sees his current contract expire in 2026 but the club have an option to extend it by a further year.

Meanwhile, Juventus are also considering a loan move for Joshua Zirkzee, as reported by The Sun.

The forward has endured a difficult time since joining United from Bologna in the summer.

Zirkzee has scored just four times in 28 appearances and was substituted after only 33 minutes during United’s defeat by Newcastle which included him being jeered off by his own supporters.

However, Zirkzee previously impressed in Italian football for Bologna, where he worked under Motta for much of his spell at the club.

Despite his struggles, it remains to be seen whether United will allow Zirkzee to depart so soon after his arrival.

Given that they paid £36.5million for Zirkzee, United may well give the 23-year-old more time to try and turn his situation around.

Zirkzee featured as a late substitute as United drew 2-2 away to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Dutchman played in Harry Maguire late in the game, but the defender was unable to find the net.
