Man United star Andre Onana was caught out yet again after gifting Viktoria Plzen a goal during their Europa League clash on Thursday night.

Two minutes into the second-half, the Red Devils goalkeeper attempted to play out from the back but watched as his pass was intercepted by an opposing forward.

The hosts sprung into life and, within seconds, Pavel Sulc had laid the ball across the box for Matej Vydra to open the scoring from close range.

It was a nightmare start to the second-half for Ruben Amorim’s side, who are looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Robbie Savage said: ‘The pass is not on. Look at the press. Onana trying to play out, it is a terrible pass, going away from the ball, out of his goal, they were setting traps, it was great play.

‘Vydra was not going to miss from there but that is not about systems, that is about individuals making the correct decisions’.

Luckily for United – and moreso for Onana – the Red Devils levelled the score against Plzen shortly after as Rasmus Hojlund poked home from close range.

The incident comes just five days after Onana was scrutinised for his performance in United’s 3-2 defeat to Forest.

The Red Devils had fallen behind to Nikola Milenkovic’s second minute opener at Old Trafford, before hitting back with Rasmus Hojlund equalising for the hosts.

Forest restored their lead in the second half with Gibbs-White deceiving Onana with an effort from outside the box.

The Man United goalkeeper moved to his right to keep out the England international’s effort, only for Gibbs-White’s shot to flash past his leg and into the centre of the goal.

Onana’s error was highlighted by Sky Sports pundit Redknapp as the key moment of the match, with Forest quickly adding a third through a looping Chris Wood header.

Bruno Fernandes pulled one back on the hour mark, but Man United were unable to fashion an equaliser.

Meanwhile, at half-time of United’s clash against Plzen, Owen Hargreaves claimed Amorim will have been ‘furious’ with Man United’s first half showing.

‘They have dominated possession but not created anything really,’ he said on TNT Sports. ‘I don’t want to make excuses but maybe it is cold. They need to do more, they have good players out there.

‘Bruno [Fernandes] is there to play that ball but it is not on, just keep it. They are trying to find their way with the system. Amorim will be furious that they have played like that.’

Karen Carney added: ‘I was excited to see [Joshua] Zirkzee in the middle but they have been really sloppy. A couple of glimpses from Zirkzee but I have been disappointed, it has lacked intensity and the decision making has been poor.

‘I feel like they have been a little bit asleep in the final third.’
