Jarrod Bowen scores within SECONDS after coming off the bench during England’s clash with Ireland – as West Ham star bags with his first touch in Nations League game

Jarrod Bowen scored his first goal at senior international level on Sunday night by finding the net from his first touch against the Republic of Ireland.

The West Ham United star had only been on the field for 30 seconds when he fired a low shot past Caoimhin Kelleher after being teed up by Jude Bellingham.

That goal came just three seconds after play had resumed following the 75th-minute substitution which saw him replace Noni Madueke.

Bowen was not the only first-time England scorer on Sunday as Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher and Taylor Harwood-Bellis opened their accounts too.

Harry Kane was also on target for England as they thrashed Ireland 5-0 to seal promotion to the top tier of the UEFA Nations League.

Former England striker Ian Wright was impressed by England and especially Bowen.

Speaking on ITV, Wright said: ‘Gordon and [Noni] Madueke are good running with it at pace, but Jarrod Bowen… there seems to be a bit more quality when he cuts inside, or finds himself in positions like where they found him [for his goal], on the edge of the box,.

‘The way he pulls off – this is something they’ve worked on, I believe.

‘It’s brilliantly worked. The ball’s coming at pace, he’s kept it low, got his knee over it and finished it brilliantly.’

Bowen’s first England goal came in his 14th senior international appearance.
