Juventus have been forced to renounce the signing of a Real Madrid player after their X account was compromised.
The Serie A side left fans shocked on Tuesday after announcing the transfer of Los Blancos star Arda Guler despite the transfer window being closed.
A photo of the Turkish midfielder appearing to arrive at an airport runway was posted and captioned: ‘Welcome to Juventus, Arda Guler! The rising star of football is now part of the #Juventus family!
‘Ready to make history together on this new journey?’
Juventus later revealed on their Italian account that their social media channel had been breached and the post was made by hackers.

‘Our Juventus English account has been compromised,’ Juventus said. ‘Please ignore the false information being published on this account. We are working on the issue.’
A subsequent tweet from the English account said: ‘Olm sakaydi lan’, which translates to ‘omg it was a joke’.
Guler impressed for Turkey during the summer’s Euros, with the nation reaching the quarter-final stage.
However the 19-year-old has struggled for minutes this season so far, making just three appearances for Real across all competitions.
Guler has been linked with a return to Fenerbache, with Jose Mourinho keen on the teenager according to Spanish outlet AS.
He was an unused sub as Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat Celta Vigo 2-1 on Saturday.
