Recent scenes saw the character in high spirits as he managed to convince his girlfriend Amelia Spencer, (Daisy Campbell) for the way he treated her during an argument.

During Tom’s marriage to Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) his abuse and control of her continued to escalate, despite her hopes that he would change his ways.

He is now being investigated by the police and the only two characters who still believe he is innocent are Amelia and Tom’s uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles).

However, during a recent episode, eagle-eyed fans spotted a clue that he might finally be brought down once and for all.

On Bonfire night, the Dingle family threw an effigy of Tom (James Chase) on the fire and he got angry as he realised most people know about his actions.

His girlfriend Amelia tried to calm him down but he cruelly snapped back at her and branded her as ‘pathetic’.

During the following installment on Wednesday, Tom told his uncle Jimmy that Amelia wasn’t replying to his messages.

Trying to get through to her, Jimmy spoke to Amelia and she told him how Tom treated her, before he convinced her to give him one more chance.

But, when the couple came face to face, Amelia had a concerned expression on her face, despite Tom thinking he has her on his side again – and fans think she could have finally realised he is an abuser.

Fans are also growing increasingly sick of the storyline and are calling for it to come to an end.

Some shared on X: ‘This storyline is unbearable now, they lost me when Tom had an axe in his back and now he’s walking around as if it was a toy one. I feel sorry for real victims of abuse who has watched this.’

‘The year is 2096 and Tom is still in Emmerdale’; ‘Seems Amelia might be seeing sense #Emmerdale.’
