Man United defender Jonny Evans has admitted that the mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag is something that is having an impact on the players.
Ten Hag’s position is under renewed scrutiny following the humbling home defeat to Tottenham and Thursday’s Europa League draw in Porto.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe sidestepped a question about Ten Hag’s position ahead of Sunday’s trip to Villa Park, where he watched on as the visitors earned a point in a low-quality contest.
Evans put in a man-of-the-match display at Villa Park to help his side leave leave a difficult ground with something.
Speaking after the game, he said: ‘It does affect the players (the pressure on Ten Hag). It’s on our minds too.

‘I think the more experience I’ve got in my career I’ve made sure I do everything you I to be ready and give everything I can to the team.’
‘It was great for him (Ten Hag) to see that, you could see that everyone was running themselves into the ground and I’m pleased for him he got a half-decent result today.’
The draw sees Ten Hag surpass his own record for the worst Man United start to a season after seven games, United sitting 14th with just two wins and eight points to their name so far.
However, Ten Haginsisted everyone at the club was ‘on the same page’ after the match.
Asked if he will speak to members of the club’s hierarchy while at Villa Park, Ten Hag told Sky Sports: ‘We always speak, we speak every week.

‘We are all onboard together, on one page. We know where we are working to, it’s a long-term project and we have to keep improving the process.
‘We have proved in two very tough away games this is a team and you show the togetherness and the spirit, but also the belief and the faith they have.’
