Jadon Sancho has sent a farewell message to Borussia Dortmund fans as he prepares for his return to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old has broken his silence after the Bundesliga side’s 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.
He enjoyed a return to form with Dortmund, but his loan stint at the club is coming to an end, with his future at Old Trafford uncertain.
Sancho had been banished from the United squad following his public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.
In a message on social media, Sancho wrote: ‘What a crazy 6 months. We win together, we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of players!

Sancho’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain due to his falling out with manager Erik ten Hag
”I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we should be super proud of ourselves. We are a family and these moments won’t break us! Thank you to everybody who came out to support us on such a special day!
‘I want to thank everyone involved at such an amazing club. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me back the way you all have during these last 6 months.
‘Thank you to Edin Terzić, Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke for believing in me and bringing me back. Finally a special thank you to the BVB fans. Your support is amazing and I’m forever thankful for you all!’
Sancho scored just three goals in 21 appearances at Dortmund, but he put on some impressive performances – notably against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
His future at Old Trafford could rest upon the fate of manager Erik ten Hag – who is waiting to see if he will be sacked by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.
Ten Hag was angered by comments Sancho made after the manager left the attacker out of his squad for a defeat to Arsenal, due to him not being at the required ‘level’ in training.
Responding on social media, Sancho said: ‘Please don’t believe everything you read.
‘I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself very well in training this week.

‘I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!’
Terzic heaped praise on Sancho after their Champions League final defeat, saying: ‘The last six months, Jadon has been brilliant for us. Of course, it took him some time to get back into shape. But you could feel his quality was going to help our game, his first touch. He improved himself and those around him.
‘I didn’t speak about the future because we’ve been speaking about the present. I am really happy that he is with us. Playing in a final in his hometown, it’s a very special moment for him.
‘You can feel the joy he receives and brings in the dressing room. I am very happy to work with Jadon. We don’t know yet what the future will bring. But for sure, it’s going to bring him another Champions League final.’
