Real Madrid have reportedly identified their preferred replacement for Toni Kroos.
Kroos brought the curtain down on his illustrious Real Madrid career by featuring in their Champions League final success against Borussia Dortmund.
The 34-year-old is retiring from club football and will also stop playing international football for Germany after Euro 2024.
During his time at Real, Kroos made over 400 appearances and won an array of trophies including five Champions Leagues and four LaLiga titles.
Real are now turning their attention towards how to replace the legendary midfielder.

As reported by Sport, Real are considering a move for Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.
Real aren’t expected to sign a replacement for Kroos but could make a move if there is an opportunity to do so.
Thuram could be available for between €15million (£12million) to €20million (£16million).

The 23-year-old was previously at Monaco before signing for Nice in 2019.
He has made one senior appearance for France, which came against the Netherlands in 2023.
