Roars at Wembley as Manchester United won the FA Cup was met with groans in England’s north-east as their title triumph knocked Newcastle out of a spot in European football next season.

Newcastle fans have now been mocked by rival supporters after a video of them chanting ‘Europe again, ole, ole, ole’ on the final day of the Premier League season has now gone viral again.

Winning the FA Cup means United have secured their place in the UEFA Europa League next season, despite finishing eighth in the league, with Chelsea relegated to the Conference League and Newcastle now missing out on European football altogether.

Winning the FA Cup gives the victors automatic spot in Europe’s second-tier cup competition and if City had won then there would have been no change to Chelsea or Newcastle’s participation.

United’s celebrations are expected to continue long into the evening, despite speculation over whether manager Erik ten Hag will be sacked or remain in charge for another season.

However, Newcastle fans will be feeling frustrated as they were handed the worst result of the afternoon without even playing a part in the Wembley encounter.

Rival fans were quick to troll the Magpies as they highlighted the club’s premature celebrations at securing European football for a second consecutive season, commenting on the original video shared by Mail Sport’s Craig Hope.

Bookies Paddy Power led the hilarious reactions as they reposted the clip alongside the caption: ‘Videos that precede unfortunate events.’

Another comical online post stated in the wake of United’s victory: ‘Narrator: At the end of the season. Newcastle didn’t reach Europe.’

‘Hahahahaha out of Europe before it kicked off must be some record that,’ said another Tweet.

However, some Newcastle fans were quick to retaliate and one original tweet before the FA Cup final warned that United could win at Wembley, a prediction that came true on Saturday.

‘Setting ourselves up for a massive fail here. Too many going on like it’s a guarantee. It would be just like Man Utd to pull it out the bag in the final. Like they have so many other times,’ said one fan at the time the video was posted.

Another Newcastle fan tried to play it cool by adding: ‘Singing about our holiday plans actually.’
