Manchester United are finally set to offload Donny van de Beek this summer according to reports in Spain.
The 27-year-old, a star of the Ajax side that reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, joined the Red Devils for £35m in the summer of 2020.
However, he quickly fell out of favour at Old Trafford, making just 16 appearances over the past three seasons – including just one in the most recent campaign.
During that time he also struggled to make an impact on loan stints at Everton and Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spanish publication Relevo are now reporting that he could be set to join LaLiga side Girona for €500,000 (£423,000) – around 80 times less than what they bought him for.

Van de Beek struggled on loan at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt last season
Van de Beek played 175 games for Ajax, scoring 41 goals for the side and impressing under Ten Hag.
He made 36 appearances in his first season at Old Trafford, though that was mostly as a substitute with just four Premier League starts.
After being loaned out to Everton mid-way during his second year at the club, there were hopes he could improve under Ten Hag.
However, he missed the majority of the 2022-23 season with a knee injury, and he struggled on loan this past campaign in the Bundesliga, with Eintracht Frankfurt turning down a £12m option to sign him.
United are keen to part ways with Van de Beek this summer, with the Dutchman having just one year left on his contract.
Girona would be a good move for Van de Beek, with the Spanish side surprising many this past season by finishing third in LaLiga – meaning they will play in next season’s Champions League.
The 27-year-old struggled to meet the standards he set at Ajax during his time at United
United confirmed a contract extension for Ten Hag on Thursday, though it appears Van de Beek doesn’t appear to be part of his plans.
The Red Devils have recently been linked with one of Van de Beek’s former Ajax team-mates.
Matthijs de Ligt, currently at Bayern Munich, has given the green light to a move to Old Trafford, with United prepared to offer a five-year contract if they can strike a £42m deal plus add-ons.
