A major European club is reportedly weighing up a move for Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.
The Brazilian star, who cost £70m in 2022, has started United’s opening three games of the season, but endured a nightmare afternoon in his side’s 3-0 defeat by Liverpool on Sunday as he gave the ball away for the Reds’ opening two goals before being hauled off at half time.
His place in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI is now under threat from new signing Manuel Ugarte, and Casemiro could be on his way out of Old Trafford before United return to action after the international break.
According to ESPN, Casemiro is on Galatasaray’s shortlist of midfield targets ahead of the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday, September 13.
United have been open to selling the 32-year-old all summer, but did not receive significant interest from Saudi Arabia.

They could now offload the midfielder to Turkey if Galatarasay step up their interest in the coming days.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has called for United to move on from Casemiro in recent months.
In a scathing assessment of Casemiro’s performance in United’s 4-0 defeat by Crystal Palace in May, Carragher urged the club to ‘pay him off’ and told the former Real Madrid star to ‘call it a day’.
He was critical of Casemiro again on the weekend, admitting it was a ‘sad sight’ to see him struggling so badly as United were comprehensively outplayed by their biggest rivals.
Casemiro’s wife, Anna Mariana, sent a defiant message to her husband’s critics on Sunday night when she posted a photo of his glittering trophy cabinet at the home they share together.

She has hit back at Casemiro’s critics, including Jamie Carragher, who has previously urged the Brazilian to ‘call it a day’
But the United midfielder is now facing an uncertain future, with the Turkish transfer window still open for another nine days.
Casemiro enjoyed a superb debut campaign at the club but has struggled since. The Brazilian was forced to play at centre back for much of 2023-24 owing to United’s defensive injury crisis.
