Charles Leclerc might have drove superbly on his way to winning the Monza GP last weekend, but that wasn’t the case as he was filmed crashing one of his personal vehicles into another car just days later.

The Ferrari ace has endured a mixed F1 campaign as the Italian garage has again showed glimpses of competitive pace, but also struggling in some races throughout the year.

Leclerc currently sits third in the drivers championship just 24 points behind McLaren’s Lando Norris and will be hoping to put on a better performance than he showed when crashing on the streets of Monaco.

The crash happened as he was Driving his luxury Ferrari Purosangue – that starts at a price of £312,000 – around his home nation in the luxury settings of Monaco that are often reserved for the wealthiest wallets.

Footage shared on social media shows a group of F1 fanatics shouting Leclerc’s name as he drives through traffic with a partner alongside him, but is left red-faced when he bumps into the car in front.

Coincidentally, the road that the 26-year-old crashed on also forms part of the Monaco F1 street circuit where he previously reigned victorious earlier in the year in front of passionate home support.

The low-speed collision shows Leclerc driving round a bend and upon failing to spot the car ahead rolls into the bumper of the black 4×4 that is nudged forward.

Nobody appears to have been hurt by the road accident and Leclerc could be seen pointing animatedly after the incident involving his high-end sportscar that suffered minimal damage.

He later drove away from the scene as traffic eased with neither of the involved drivers appearing to be too concerned by the crash.

Speaking after his latest victory in Italy, Leclerc said: ‘It is an incredible feeling. I thought the second time, if there was a second time, would not feel as special as the first, but the emotions over the last few laps were the same. 

‘I want to win Monza and Monaco every year and I have managed to do to. It is so, so special.’
