Cesc Fabregas hits back over claims he and his family face EVICTION from luxury Swiss apartment because he ‘owes £30,000 in rent and bills and has not responded to repeated warnings’

Cesc Fabregas has hit back over allegations that he and his family are reportedly at risk of eviction from their luxury Swiss apartment due to owing £30,000 in arrears to the landlord.

The Spaniard has allegedly been silent amid the landlord’s repeated warnings and is being taken to court over CHF34,000 unpaid in rent and bills.

It marks an alarming episode for Fabregas, who is the manager of new Serie A side Como over the border and sitting in the relegation zone after four games.

He, his family, and his cats are staying in a lakeside apartment in the town of Bissone, which is around a 40-minute drive from Como.

The landlord has filed an eviction request and the case has ended up in the district court, with the judge’s decision imminent in the next few days, according to Italian outlet LiberaTV.

If Fabregas is found guilty, the police will have the power to chuck Fabregas, his wife Daniella Semaan, and their five kids – Maria, Joseph, Lia, Capri and Leonardo – out of the property.

LiberaTV claims to have seen bills and notices provided to Fabregas.

‘We tried to contact Fabregas’ lawyers, but without success,’ the landlord said.

However, Fabregas’ lawyer denied the claims and insists he has paid his bills.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal star told Eco dello Sport: ‘To date all the rent has been paid in full to the owner of the property and therefore it is not true that there is an overdraft.’

Admitting that rent payments were withheld for several months, the family added: ‘It was believed, in good faith, that by suspending the payment of rent (rather than depositing it with the competent authorities) it would facilitate a quicker resolution of the problems. Unfortunately, this was not the case.’

Fabregas’ row with the landlord pertained to ‘numerous and verifiable defects and problems (such as damp stains)’ in the apartment. It is claimed the family ‘recently attempted, in vain, to reach an agreement with the owner’.

The Spaniard also released a statement via Eco dello Sport to vent his frustration towards the news going public.

It read: ‘Although he understands that he is a public figure, Fabregas would like to emphasise that this matter has been made public without any valid reason, other than that of wanting to publicly damage his image.’

Fabregas and Daniella have posted numerous photos from the balcony of their apartment, which overlooks Lake Lugano.

Over the summer the Arsenal and Chelsea legend was appointed as Como’s manager, having served as assistant during their promotion from Serie B last season.

Their season has got off to a rocky start despite the fact they recruited Raphael Varane, Pepe Reina, Sergi Roberto, Alberto Moreno, and Andrea Belotti over the summer.

They suffered a 3-0 defeat by Juventus on the opening day and have also lost 1-0 at Udinese, while registering draws against Cagliari and Bologna.

Como were also knocked out of the first round of the Italian Cup by Serie B’s bottom club Sampdoria on penalties.
