Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly ‘given up’ on Real Madrid star Vinicius Jnr over the Brazilian’s lack of discipline that has seen him become a target for rival players.
The Madrid manager has been key to Vinicius’ rise to becoming one of the best players in the world, winning both the Champions League and LaLiga title last season and amongst the favourites to win the upcoming Ballon d’Or.
Ancelotti is attempting to manage a team of superstars that was made even bigger by the summer addition of Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Jnr is matching the Frenchman as one of the team’s biggest personalities.
However, despite the Brazilian starting the season impressively with three goals and six assists across all competitions, his disciplinary and on-pitch behaviour has become a source of frustration.
Three yellow cards in seven LaLiga matches this season has made Vinicius one of the club’s most-booked players and Ancelotti sort the winger out for talks that didn’t move very far, as reported by SPORT.

The Madrid boss’s advice over his attacker’s ill discipline fell on ‘deaf ears’ and some of Vinicius Jnr’s team-mates are also reported to be growing tired with his behaviour.
‘The rules have changed and we have to get used to them. We have to avoid the protests and so on. This is neither fair nor unfair. We have to adapt to it and that’s it,’ Ancelotti said previously.
Meanwhile, Vinicius has continued his outspoken stance against racism in the Spanish top-flight where he has been targeted by vile abuse and broke his silence after a fan was given a 12 month prison sentence on Thursday.
The Mallorca supporter had previously aimed racist rhetoric at Vinicius during Madrid’s clash with the Spanish minnows in February, with other similar instances also following the star throughout his career in the capital.

Vinicius Jnr took to social media to react to the news after Real Madrid shared a statement and reacted with two emojis, the first a hands together emoji, which means thank you, and the second a handshake emoji.
It was also determined that the same individual who was found guilty also directed hateful abuse at former Villarreal player Samu Chukwueze during Mallorca’s home LaLiga win on February 18.
The sentence was announced as suspended, conditional on the accused, who apologised and wrote a letter to Vinicius Jnr, and, according to Real Madrid’s official statement, showed remorse.
