USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie has left camp to recover from the knee injury he sustained during their 3-0 victory over Trinidad & Tobago in the CONCACAF Nations League.
The USMNT announced the 25-year-old’s departure from camp on Saturday morning.
The team also confirmed that manager Gregg Berhalter did not call for a replacement ahead of their trip to Port of Spain, Trinidad for the second leg on Monday.
McKennie played all 90 minutes of Thursday’s game but did not have much success. Despite securing a decisive win, the United States did not open scoring until the 82nd minute.
Trinidad & Tobago held the Americans down momentarily despite losing a player in the 37th minute. However, the United States left Austin victorious thanks to late goals from Ricardo Pepi, Antonee Robinson and Gio Reyna.

McKennie joins Tyler Adams, Christian Pulisic, and Tim Weah in the list of injured players ahead of Monday’s game.
The severity of McKennie’s injury has not been disclosed, but mild cases of tendinopathy can often be cleared in six weeks.
Whether or not McKennie will dress for Juventus’ game against Inter on November 26 remains a question.
McKennie has a history of injuries that range from shoulder complications to metatarsal fractures.
McKennie also dealt with knee injuries in January 2018 while playing for Schalke and more recently in November of 2021 for Juventus.
The former FC Dallas standout has scored 11 goals in 47 appearances for the United States since 2017.
