Former Liverpool star Peter Crouch has rubbished claims that Jurgen Klopp has underachieved at Anfield.
The Reds boss has won one Premier League title in nine seasons at the club, with his time coming to an end.
Liverpool’s draw to West Ham and previous defeat to Crystal Palace means it looks unlikely that Klopp will finish his final season with anything more than a Carabao Cup trophy.
His side went crashing out of the Europa League to Atalanta but will want to finish strong for their manager.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Crouch has discussed Klopp’s legacy and hit back at the German’s critics.

‘I have heard it said that because he’s only won one Premier League, he’s underachieved with Liverpool. What do you say about that?’ Crouch was asked.
He replied: ‘No. You’ve got to remember where the club was.
‘They got so close under Brendan Rodgers, then it was a complete rebuild. He had players here at the club that were potentially not Liverpool players.
‘He had to clear that out. What he’s done is competed with Manchester City on almost a shoestring budget compared to what they were spending.’
Crouch continued to praise Klopp for developing players that he brought in and increasing their value.
He said: ‘You think of the players he’s brought in. Nobody was thinking about the Salah’s, Mane’s. Alisson was a great find.
‘He brought players in for £20 million or £30 million and people were thinking maybe you’ve overpaid. They turned into £100 millions players. He improved them.
‘He’s done so much for the football club. It’s quite emotional. When he does leave there won’t be a dry eye in the house.’
