Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher received a hilarious linguistics lesson from CBS Sports’ special guest ahead of the Champions League final at Wembley.

The broadcaster shocked fans when they confirmed that their regular of line-up of analysts – Thierry Henry, Carragher and Micah Richards – would be joined by, among other famous faces, Dora the Explorer.

The Nickelodeon cartoon character interacted with the panel, giving them a lesson on the proper pronunciation of Serie A champions Inter Milan.

Though, she reserved special attention for Carragher, who seemed incapable of nailing the club’s full name; Internazionale.

The joyous clip of the exchange saw the Liverpudlian struggle to follow Dora’s instruction.

‘Oh, you almost had it Jamie,’ she remarked after his second attempt,’ before – with the help of his fellow panelists – the 46-year-old met her very high standards.

Fans had reacted with shock to last week’s announcement, with one writing ‘What the hell is Dora doing there?’

Others embraced the news with another posting ‘Dora about to give the best insight there is’, with a third saying ‘Can’t wait to hear and see Dora, let’s goooo’.

It is not the first time Dora the Explorer has featured as part of coverage of major sporting events.

The much loved character appeared as an honorary ‘rules expert’ during coverage of the Super Bowl earlier this year.

Several cartoon characters were used in alternative coverage aimed introducing children to the sport and explaining rules.

CBS Sports coverage will also include NBA star Joel Embiid, the league’s Most Valuable Player in 2023.

The Philadelphia 76s star admitted earlier this year that he would rather be a footballer than a basketball player.

Embiid is a Real Madrid fan and will be hoping to see the Spanish giants clinch a record extending 15th Champions League triumph at Wembley.
