Aberdeen have kicked out a £3million offer from Spanish club Espanyol for coveted striker Bojan Miovski.
The newly-promoted La Liga side opened the bidding for the £6.5m-rated Macedonian. Mail Sport understands, however, that the offer fell substantially short of Aberdeen’s valuation and was turned down.
Italian sides Bologna and Genoa have also been speaking to Miovski’s representatives. And Espanyol, who returned to the Spanish top flight for the 2024/25 season after a 2-0 second leg home win against Real Oviedo in the promotion play-off final, could still return to the negotiating table.
Senior figures within Pittodrie still hope to rake in their highest ever fee for a player signed from MTK Budapest two years ago.

Addressing the striker’s future ahead of Monday night’s opening league clash with St Johnstone, Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin told Sky Sports: ‘Let’s see. When the window is open, you never know what exactly is going to happen.
‘You need to be ready and prepared but we need to keep our focus on what we’re doing with the players that are here and we need to try and grow as a team.

‘Bojan is still an Aberdeen player and he behaves like an Aberdeen player. My feeling is, when I see him training and how he behaves in the locker room, everything is perfect.
‘On the pitch against Airdrie he showed everybody he’s still here in his mind and he gave everything for the club. So I’m happy with how he is doing in the sessions and he is ready.’
