Sofascore have unveiled their newly redesigned Player of the Season award, and they have partnered up with one of the biggest all-time icons of Brazilian football.
Sofascore are among the leading statistical analysts in football, with the Sofascore Player Rating a globally acclaimed measure of player performance from a game.
Their Player of the Season award takes into account data from 50 leagues across the world, to work out who has shown the greatest drive and determination across a single campaign.
Now, though, Sofascore have re-branded their award for the best player in every league, introducing a new-look trophy made from materials sourced from a field in Brazil – including concrete and soil – which go into every award.
Perhaps indicative of the talent on show in the European Championship, three of the star names from the final have won the awards for their respective leagues.

With an overall rating of 8.05, Jude Bellingham has won the LaLiga award, with Rodri (8.01) earning the Premier League gong and Harry Kane (7.76) rated the best player in the Bundesliga.
Elsewhere, Turkey star Hakan Calhanoglu (7.68) was rated the best player in Serie A after helping Inter to the title, and Kylian Mbappe picked up the award for Ligue (7.89).
The newly-rebranded award comes after Sofascore partnered up with Brazilian icon Zico – who spoke glowingly of the new award – to rejuvenate a training pitch at the legendary creative midfielder’s academy.
The soil in each trophy comes from that said field, symbolising the roots of every football journey and serving as a reminder of the communities that supported their rise to greatness.
