Three members of Inter Milan’s league-winning team have come together to commission diamond rings for the special occasion.
Last month, the club won their 20th Serie A title by beating AC Milan in a bad-tempered derby clash, and they went on to finish the season 19 points clear of their crosstown rivals.
Now the whole team will get specially-commissioned jewellery following the idea of Marko Arnautovic, Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Berete jewellers, a Belgian firm which makes deluxe rings and other items, has been sharing images of the fine products on their Instagram account, with the three players showing off their designs.
While rings are popular in North American sport franchises, they are less well-known in European events, and especially in football, but Arnautovic, Thuram and Calhanoglu decided that the 20th title win for Inter was a special occasion which should be marked accordingly.

On another post showing off the rings, Berete jewellers wrote: ‘We need more championship rings in the world of football , it’s the coolest sport in the world , the most viewed sport in the world , football should be the coolest as well, Let’s bring championship rings into football every season’.
The manufacturer is located in the heart of Antwerp’s ‘Diamond district’ in Belgium, and has spent three generations making jewellery for top names, which has been channeled into the Inter Milan designs.
According to the Berete website, Thuram previously had a ‘T-Monster’ necklace made, while Bayern Munich’s Tanguy Nianzou also had a custom ring made.
Thuram proved to be the ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku up front, whilst Calhanoglu earned comparisons to Andrea Pirlo for his work as playmaker.
Meanwhile, forward Arnautovic scored five goals and made three assists in 27 league games for Inter on their way to the trophy, which they won with five games to spare.

Inter Milan’s 20th Scudetto moves them ahead of AC Milan in the all-time list of Italian championships, although they are still 16 titles behind Juventus.
The club will get a second star on their kit, as Italian clubs get a star for every ten league titles that they win.
