Van Dijk looks to kick through Nkunku but the referee doesn’t give it, and VAR are happy with the original decision.

That looked very clumsy from Van Dijk.

Perhaps a glimmer of hope for Chelsea.

Sterling finds Nkunku is the box and he turns onto his left foot before firing into the bottom corner.

A top finish and Pochettino is now trying to fire his players up.

Klopp rings the changes with the three points in the bag.

Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Gakpo and Elliott come on for Bradley, Gomez, Szoboszlai and Jota.

Bradley has already seen off Chilwell in the first half and he had made a fine start to the second half as well.

He gets a round of applause from the home crowd as he wins a free-kick after getting the ball back with a strong tackle.

Diaz, who has been fantastic tonight, cuts inside and fires a shot at goal but it’s straight at Petrovic.

Chelsea’s best chance of the night by a distance.

Gusto gets in down the right and squares for Mudryk. He is on the stretch slightly, but should do better as his close-range shot flies well over.

Chelsea have created very littler, but will feel they should have had a penalty when Gallagher appeared to be brought down by Van Dijk at 0-0.

That penalty miss came in stoppage time. There will be four minutes added on at the end of the half.

What is it with Nunez and hitting the woodwork? He’s done it again here as he sends Petrovic the wrong way, but his strike comes back off the post.

Joe Cole has just been reflecting on that early penalty shout for Joe Cole and believes it was a stonewall penalty.

That will certainly cause some controversy if Chelsea go on to lose this.

Another half-chance for Liverpool as Diaz gets his head to a free-kick, but his effort drifts wide.

Nunez really fancies a goal tonight and tries a shot from the edge of the area.

But it’s well off target, not troubling Petrovic at all.

The resulting free-kick is a decent one, but the near post flick goes well wide.

A lovely flick finds Nunez and he lets fly from the edge of the area.

Now then, should Chelsea have a penalty here?

They break quickly and Gallagher takes it past Van Dijk. There is contact, but VAR takes a look and decides there is not enough in it. That’s a big call early on.

Chris Sutton on 5 Live agrees with the verdict, admitting there was contact but that Gallagher went down ‘too easily’.

First chance for Liverpool as Bradley clips a ball over the top. Nunez tries to chip the keeper but Petrovic just gets back in time to pluck his effort from the air.
