It has been three months since Harry Kane left his boyhood club Tottenham in pursuit of trophies at Bayern Munich.
And so far it seems like a match made in heaven, with the England captain filling in the void left by Robert Lewandowski who left a year earlier for Barcelona.
It would be forgiven for him having a slow start in the Bundesliga, which despite a weaker league than the Premier League, is still a big transition for a player – as Sadio Mane found out last season.
He has scored 19 goals in 15 games, with seven assists, and it looks a shoe-in that he will finally win his first piece of silverware as a player.
Which is all the more impressive given the challenges it can be for a player to move abroad after spending their life in the United Kingdom.

David Beckham put it best when describing how it felt after making the switch from boyhood club Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2003, insisting in his Netflix documentary: ‘When I first moved to Spain, it was difficult because I had been part of a club and a family for my whole career, from the age of 15 to when I was 27.
‘I was sold overnight. The next minute I’m in a city where I didn’t speak the language. More importantly, I didn’t have my family.’
Kane when reporting back England for international duty last month, told reporters: ‘Obviously I’m aware my family are still in London, so I’m in that mode in Munich of just getting on with things. Obviously we have a lot of games and travelling, so when I come back here I try to see the family for a short space of time then get my head in England mode.’
Kate, who is also 30, is a professional fitness coach who studied sports science at university, began dating when they were 16.
They first met at the age of four when they both attended Larkswood Primary School in Chingford, East London, near to where they both lived.
They later went to Chingford Foundation School, whose former pupils include another England skipper, Beckham and they soon began dating.
It was previously reported that she and their four children will stay at their £17m Hertfordshire mansion while he moves to Grunwald, an upscale suburb of Munich.

Ahead of his lucrative switch to Bayern in August, Kane was preparing to move to a lavish mansion in Grunwald, one of Germany’s wealthiest towns which is dubbed the ‘Bavarian Beverley Hills’.
The leafy town is already home to many of the current Bayern Munich squad including Matthijs de Ligt, Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Alphonso Davies, and Benjamin Pavard.
Luxury mansions in the town sell for between £10m to £20m and most of them are hidden behind high hedges and trees. However, the England forward and his family have yet to find the perfect house in Grunwald.
Reports claimed that Kane has been living in a £10,000 per night suite at Munich’s Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Hotel since August.
It means in total, with his entourage and add-ons included, Kane has already chalked up a tab exceeding £1m in Bavaria.
After hat-tricks against VfL Bochum, Darmstadt 98 and Borussia Dortmund in the ‘Der Klassiker,’ Muller approached him and joked: ‘Your hotel room is getting smaller and smaller now, eh?”
Kane returned to London in August in time for the birth of his fourth child, Henry Edward, after the couple previously had daughters Ivy, 6, and Vivienne, 5, and son Louis, 2.
Another big thing for the 30-year-old is learning German. When asked how his lessons were coming on, he told reporters last month: ‘Average to say the least! I’ve had four, five lessons now, but it’s not easy.

‘But they’re pretty strong on it, they want you to learn as much as possible, so maybe in about a year or so I might be a bit further ahead. For now, I’m still at the basics.’
Despite this he has appeared to build a bond already with the likes of Thomas Muller, Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies, while long-time German No 1 Manuel Neuer said: ‘He’s a phenomenon and we’re proud that he’s playing for us in the team.’
Kane planned to ’embrace the German culture’ by learning the language after his summer move, and he took things one step further by getting better acquainted with Bavarian fashion.
The striker, Muller and Davies were posing during a photoshoot with Bayern’s partner Paulaner, a popular brewery which provides beer at the famous Munich festival Oktoberfest – wearing traditional lederhosen.
Asked about the picture, he told reporters: ‘Yeah it was good actually. Just to go there and see what Oktoberfest is like. For us it’s more like an appearance day with each other, more team stuff and a dinner type thing.
‘But I can imagine going with a few friends would maybe be a bit more lively. It was good. Going to a new country and seeing different cultures, to experience that pretty early on was cool and to see how they celebrate it, it was great to see.’
He did though add that he didn’t join in too much on downing the beer, as he said: ‘I’m not a big beer drinker, to be honest. I had a bit and the food was nice. But I didn’t drink much of the beer.’
As always in football, there are some big perks to the job – namely his reported £415,000-per-week salary, after signing a deal to last until 2027 with his £95m move from Tottenham.
Despite his lack of German, Kane is popular among his team-mates, understandable so as he could be the man to fire the Bundesliga giants to glory this season

Back in August, Bayern’s stars were able to choose from a range of electric Audis thanks to the club’s partnership with the car manufacturer.
Kane opted for a black Q8 e-tron, with prices on that range starting at £58,000. The ex-Spurs star collected his new drive from Ingolstadt on Wednesday.
Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller were among 12 Bayern players to select the Audi RS e-tron GT, for which costs start at nearly £120,000.
Leon Goretzka also chose an RS e-tron GT, but his came in purple as opposed to black.
‘I’ve already tried [driving in Germany], but of course not with the new car,’ Kane told BILD.
‘I’ll slowly get used to the fact that the steering wheel is on the other side. So far I haven’t had a crash, that’s a positive thing.’
He also explained that he chose a family car because of the birth of his fourth child.
Compared to the ferocity of the Premier League schedule, the Bundesliga has one less competition to compete for with two fewer league fixtures, which could help prolong his career in the long run.
Thomas Muller joked that Kane’s hotel room is getting smaller after picking up three match-balls after picking up as many hat-tricks
Asked if it would help him reach the Euros in 2028 – hosted in the UK – he said: ‘That will help going into a summer tournament where players are tired going into a long season where you have been in all competitions.
‘Time will tell, if you are playing well you might just want to finish the season and go straight into the tournament, we will have to wait and see. It will help me and help the longevity of my career, having a few extra weeks’ break.
‘Bayern haven’t said anything specifically in trying to make my career longer. But I think the way we train, the way we play, me personally I am always looking at things to improve and ways to recover. In terms of scheduling it will help me personally going into tournaments.’
