‘I’m pleased to welcome Steven Benda to Fulham,’ vice chairman Tony Khan added.

‘He’s a proficient young goalkeeper, and although he is at present recovering from damage, we’ve monitored him for some time and imagine that he’ll be a important addition to Marco’s squad on his return.’

A severe knee injury has halted Benda’s development, but he will hope for a fresh new begin in the English capital.

He designed the shift to Swansea back in 2017 from 1860 Munich, heading on to make 31 senior appearances in overall.

Questioned about dropping one of his most important goalkeepers late in the window, Swansea manager Michael Duff was eager to appear forward, not back.

‘Steven built it clear he wasn’t going to sign a new agreement,’ Duff stated following Tuesday’s 3-2 Carabao Cup loss to Bournemouth.

‘We likely wouldn’t have observed him until eventually January so are we in a place to convert down the funds for a goalkeeper that would have only been readily available for a few or four months?

‘We think we have obtained a good goalkeeper in Carl [Rushworth] in any case.’
