Fernando Alonso has not offered up hope of wresting the earth title from Max Verstappen at the age of 41.
The evergreen Spaniard, revitalised at Aston Martin, completed 2nd to the Dutchman in Monaco, and then insisted his 51-point deficit does not spell the stop of his ambitions.
‘The championship is extensive and we will not give up,’ stated Alonso. ‘The Purple Bull is untouchable, and even with good final results we are guiding them.
‘But we didn’t have the most effective automobile at Ferrari in 2010 and we led the championship heading into the last race in Abu Dhabi.
‘We are relying on weekends where by Crimson Bull have concerns. If Max has 1 or two of people, we will be a small bit closer in the championship. This is motorsport and just about anything can happen.’
