Chelsea boss Graham Potter is now the fourth best-paid manager IN THE WORLD – and earns more than Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich… but can you guess which LaLiga boss tops the lot?
Chelsea manager Graham Potter is the fourth best-paid manager in the world – and even earns more than his predecessor Thomas Tuchel, who now manages Bayern Munich.
L’Equipe revealed the list of the world’s top managerial earners on Thursday, with a trio of Premier League bosses predictably taking up three of the four top spots.
The French newspaper have claimed that Potter earns a whopping £993,117 per month (£229,180 a week) with the Blues, while Tuchel collects £878,965 every month (£202,815 a week) at the Allianz Arena.
Potter has endured a tough start to life at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues currently languishing in 10th place, and are 11 points adrift of Tottenham in fourth who have played a game more.
Potter was able to book Chelsea’s spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League earlier this month, but they now face reigning European champions Real Madrid over two legs.

Atletico Madrid’s Argentinian boss Diego Simeone is the world’s best-paid manager
For Tuchel, the German had been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea earlier this season but made his return to management with Bayern Munich last week when they decided to shockingly sack Julian Nagelsmann.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola takes top spot in the Premier League, with the Spaniard earning an eye-watering £1,643,477 a month (£379,263 a week) – over £300,000 a month more than Jurgen Klopp does at Liverpool.
However, the world’s best paid manager in fact hails from Spain, according to L’Equipe, with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone blowing his competition out of the water when it comes to his paycheck.
The Argentinian brings in a whopping £2,487,187 a month – over £800,000 more that Guardiola does at City.
That means Simeone earns over half a million every week, making him not only the best-paid manager in the world, but one of the best paid men in football.
Max Allegri takes fifth spot in the top earning manager’s list from L’Equipe, with the Italian raking in £940,386 every month.
Given Barcelona’s financial issues, Xavi is the paid the lowest amount out of the 12 managers listed by L’Equipe.
With the majority of Barcelona’s squad taking pay-cuts on their salaries in recent years to help balance the books, Xavi is reportedly earning £281,236 a month – a fraction of what his contemporaries make in similar roles at similarly sized clubs.
